The Storyteller Presents (Be Your Own Hero)
I just realized that I’ve never formally introduced our mascot.
Meet, The Storyteller.
The concept for the storyteller came around when I was working with Adam Rosenlund to design our reimagined menu board. The concept was to move away from the traditional barbershop experience where you walk into a shop and see pictures of other people’s haircuts, and you ask the barber to imitate something on the wall. I always wanted a menu board that gave you a concept of what you could walk away with, but you could imagine yourself as the person on the wall.
This was where The Storyteller shines. The Storyteller is able to tell the story of each service, without giving any false expectations of how you are going to leave the shop. The Storyteller creates an opportunity for you and your barber to have a conversation about your hair goals so you can leave the shop with a haircut curated specifically for you.
After we launched the rebranding at the beginning of the year, I kept asking myself, “what’s next for The Storyteller?”
After working with Adam about where we plan on taking our mascot, I decided that the tale of The Storyteller should start where every good tale begins, the beginning. Now, most anyone who plays a solid RPG knows that at the beginning of any epic quest, there is a character creation screen. This is where you choose the class you want to play as, and make the decisions on how you plan on interacting with the world around you.
We’ve always wanted you to be the hero of your own story, so The Storyteller is now available as a character creation screen. Stickers are currently available for $2 each, or get all three classes for $5.
We will be releasing seasonal apparel and accessories that will be available in limited capacity, so make sure you grab them during your appointment while they are still around. The Tank is going to be our summer release, so keep your eye on our instagram for all of the updates.
This is one of the most exciting things we’ve done for the shop, and I can’t wait to see what the future for The Storyteller holds.
